the first morning that we were there bobby had a meeting so we got on the subway. it was the worst time ever. everyone else was heading to work at the same time. why i didn't think about that? i'm not sure? i literally felt like i could pick my feet up off the ground and stay up for how close we all were. i've never felt claustrophobic before that moment. in fact, i kept having to tell myself not to panic! ha. i was pretty much just hoping that every time wouldn't be like that. (just so you know, that's the ONLY time that the subway was packed like that the whole time we were there!) while bobby was in his meeting i decided to head over the time apple store on 5th avenue to see if they could do something about my shattered phone!
this is where i spent the entire time bobby was in his meeting because wells fargo really didn't want me to spend money in new york! i called them FOUR times this day trying to get it all figured out. every time i thought it was figured out, my debit card would get declined. lame. the rest of our days were spent exploring the city and expanding our waist sizes! ;)
so... for your viewing pleasure... ;) just a 'couple' of the pictures from our trip!
i wandered around after leaving bobby at his meeting, to me, the city is just so beautiful!
can't go to new york without shopping at bergdorf goodman! ;)
or without having a nyc street hotdog! :)
can't stay in the city without a metrocard.
the subways are really like their own underground city! it's honestly incredible.
exhausted is an understatement!
walking across the brooklyn bridge. why not?
one awesome thing about new york is all the people are so ridiculously talented! even the street artists. it's so awesome.
filming of person of interest! :)fire department
rockefeller center
you can't go to new york without going to time square!
and when you have kids, whether or not they are with you, you have to go to toys'r'us!
more subway rides!
i got to try on some super expensive but gorgeous and totally new york dresses! i absolutely love the style and fashion of new york! it's too bad that 75% of what you'd find there just can't be worn in rexburg, idaho!
we found some amazing chinese food a couple blocks from where we were staying. we also ate there everyday we were in new york.
we rode the subway all the way to brooklyn to eat some AMAZING pizza! literally, fabulous. and totally worth the trip! brooklyn is a totally different world then manhattan.
bobby took me down to the new york stock exchange. it was saturday so there was no one there! it was kind of a nice change from the hordes of people at all the touristy spots!
growing up i could have killed for an american girl doll! i'd get the magazines and circle everything that i wanted! (so of course everything in the magazine! :) i just had to go in the store!
the freedom tower. honestly, the most incredible thing about our trip. new yorkers are so proud of it. and they have good reason to be! it's beautiful. i still can't imagine what the people of new york went through that day. i hadn't thought much about it until actually being there. being in those surroundings. it's not just a little town, so the panic this huge city must have went through that day had to have been insane. i was a 7th grader in idaho and i even felt that panic!
as we were flying out, i got super lucky and was sat by the window AND on the side so i could see the city! we loved our trip. and this city. i was kind of stressed going out thinking what if i get there, and i hate it!? what if i can't see anyway possible to raise a family here!? we don't know if we will move here for good, but i'm confident that if this is where we are supposed to be we will be here and that we can easily raise a family here together! we saw lots of parents with 2 kids coming home and going to soccer, baseball, karate, and even little girls in equestrian outfits! (soooo cute!) the day we left i felt like i was really going to miss it! and i do. i can't wait to go back and visit again! next time with kids!! :)
